How does the bonus work?
Each year, save from January and keep money on your card. At 11:59pm on 1 November, we check your balance. You'll receive £2.50 for every full £50 on your card – that's a 5% bonus on balances between £50 and £500. The maximum bonus is £25. Any online orders placed on or before 1 November are deducted from your qualifying balance. The bonus is added to your card by the end of November. We reserve the right to amend the bonus rate from year to year.
Can I register more than one card?
Yes. You can add multiple Savings Cards to a single account – useful if you've picked up cards for family members or want to run separate budgets. Each card qualifies for its own November bonus, provided it meets the £50 minimum balance requirement.
Where can I load and use my card?

There is a 2-step process to using the Savings Card:

  1. The card can be activated at a Sainsbury's in-store checkout and self-service till and used as a gift card. Money can be added to the card once and redeemed as required. It is not a Savings Card until registered in Step 2.
  2. Register your card to enable the card to become a Savings Card, at which point the card can be reloaded and redeemed as often as you like. The card will then become eligible to earn a bonus if the minimum balance requirements are met. The card must be activated before registration.
Why do I need to register my card to qualify for the bonus?
If your card is registered to your Sainsbury’s account, you can contact us via the Help Centre at 0800 63 62 62 and we’ll cancel the lost card and issue a replacement with any remaining balance transferred. Sainsbury’s is not liable for any unauthorised use of the Savings Card. Unregistered cards cannot be replaced.
What happens if I lose my card?
If your card is registered to your Sainsbury’s account, your balance is insured. Contact us via the Help Centre and we’ll cancel the lost card and issue a replacement with your full balance transferred. Unregistered cards cannot be replaced.
